Ben Chilwell back in training with Chelsea — confirmed by Gareth Southgate

Ben Chilwell was not involved in the game against Newcastle due to a knee issue. With his injury history, there was every reason to be concerned over his fitness in the long term.

However, he was included in the England squad by Gareth Southgate who revealed that the left-back has started training with Chelsea.

"We are hopeful that Ben comes through this week with Chelsea," the England boss said at the squad unveiling.

Around the same time, a picture emerged of Chilwell in full training gear, suggesting that he was indeed back on the training pitch.

It remains to be seen how involved Chilwell is going to be in the upcoming FA Cup quarter-final against his former side Leicester on Sunday.
