Umtiti needs 2 more weeks, Mingueza to play against Kyiv: Koeman gives update on centre-back crisis

"Pique will be a major loss for us," Ronald Koeman told the assembled media ahead of the Dynamo Kyiv game, referring to Gerard's serious knee injury which may rule him out for several months.

On his potential replacements in the upcoming games, the coach added: "Araujo still has to finish recovering and Mingueza could have his chance [tomorrow].

"Umtiti has been injured for a long time, he's training well and our intention is for him to prepare to play and be able to do so in two weeks."

With Frenkie de Jong rested for the Kyiv trip and Sergio Busquets out injured, Barca B starlet Oscar Mingueza is expected to make his first-team debut to pair up with Clement Lenglet.
