Alisson, Fabinho and Firmino reportedly set to miss Copa America, could be ready for LFC pre-season

The Copa America was moved from Argentina to Brazil thanks to concerns regarding the Covid-19 pandemic.

Reports are now emerging that Brazilian players, especially the ones playing in Europe are debating appearing for the tournament.

LFC's Alisson, who is an ambassador for the World Health Organization, had reportedly raised his concerns with the government when the decision was announced on Thursday.

Now, the Liverpool Echo have reported that the Brazilian trio will miss the tournament altogether and drop out of the squad.

The issue is that the tournament might cause the virus to spread even further in Brazil where there are already over 1 million active cases and nearly 470,000 people have died over the course of the pandemic.

With players deeply unhappy about this decision, Brazil captain Casemiro did not appear at his scheduled press conference ahead of the World Cup Qualifier against Ecuador, before his coach explained the situation.

"The players have a very clear opinion, against the president, about playing the tournament," Tite said.

If the boycott goes through, Alisson, Fabinho and Firmino could all be available for the start to Liverpool's pre-season.
