Back in October 2020, Virgil Van Dijk suffered a horrific ACL knee injury after a leg-breaking tackle from Everton's Jordan Pickford.
Van Dijk has not been the same player since that injury despite featuring in FIFPro's Team of the Year in 2022.
Stats have now highlighted the difference between Van Dijk's performances before and after that nasty injury.
The Dutch defender has only improved his tackles per foul rate per 90 minutes since that injury.
In other aspects, like tackles per game, interceptions, ground duels, aerial duels won and overall tackle success rate Van Dijk is not performing close to his numbers before the injury.
It must be noted that Liverpool as a team have been below their usual standards this season and that might've contributed to Van Dijk's slump. He's also had some injury problems after that big one at Everton.
