Jordan Henderson has started the campaign to promote Saudi Arabia's bid to host the World Cup in 2034.
"I'm very excited about the announcement. Go, Saudi Arabia!" Henderson said in a video shared by the promoter on X.
Henderson strongly denied being asked to promote Saudi Arabia's sporting project and being paid as much as £700K per week following his £12m move from Liverpool to Al-Ettifaq in the summer.
The former Liverpool captain was a strong voice for equal rights for the LGBTQ community before his move to Saudi. However, things have slightly changed for Hendo since that transfer as Saudi Arabia strongly shuns equal rights for homosexuals.
Regardless, the 33-year-old remains an important player with the England national team as vice-captain. He was called up for their latest squad for October.
