Man United's net spend proves Solskjaer was backed by the Glazers

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has officially left Manchester United after continuously failing to get the best out of his squad this season.

The Old Trafford board had to act following the disastrous 4–1 defeat away at Watford in the Premier League, the Norwegian's last game in charge.

And while it is reasonable to shift some of the blame on the Glazer family, one thing can not be argued with: the American owners have repeatedly backed Solskjaer.

Net spend on transfers since Ole's appointment, as per Sky Sports:

Manchester United — £312.1 million

Arsenal — £279.7 million

Tottenham — £207 million

Manchester City — £199.6 million

Chelsea — £82.1 million

Liverpool — negative £3.6 million
