'It's not that boy's fault': Gary Neville explains who's to blame for Antony's Man United strugglers

Speaking on Sky Sports, Gary Neville said: "That's the one thong that's going to stand out on Erik ten Hag, that £85 million on Antony where he's obviously nowhere near that level.

“What looks to have happened is Manchester United's recruitment department can't have gone to watch Antony and signed him off at £85million — it looks like they’ve allowed Ten Hag to overrule them.

"Antony is so frustrating, but I blame the club for bringing him in at £85 million. It's not that boy's fault that he's been brought in as one of the most expensive wide players in world football."

Antony remains a key part of Man United's starting XI under Ten Hag even though he's usually the worst player on the pitch regardless of the scoreline.

It looks like the Dutchman is determined to make the transfer work although it's hard to see the Brazilian winger becoming a different player overnight.
