According to the MEN, Manchester United are in no rush to offer Kobbie Mainoo a new contract despite his stunning breakthrough into the first-team.
Having established himself as a regular starter under Erik ten Hag, Mainoo has also impressed for England.
On his first-ever start for the senior side, Mainoo bagged the Player of the Match award. That's no small feat, given the intense competition between big names for a starting spot.
All this led to speculation that Mainoo will be handed a bigger contract at Old Trafford.
The MEN understands Man United have begun negotiations with Mainoo's representatives about a contract.
They are not rushing things though, considering the teenager signed a long-term contract a year ago. The current deal ties him to the club till 2027 with the option to extend it for another year.
Mainoo remains in line for a pay rise and a bigger contract; possibly when the time is right.
