This is the result of years of mismanagement. Why would you give every player you sign a 5 year contract with stupid amount of money that he will never get anywhere else. That's why players like rakitic are comfortable and don't wanna go anywhere else when they getting paid big money and enjoying the sunshine in Barcelona. He will run his contract and go for free so he can get a high wages in his next club. There should be a club rule that contract don't last more than 3 years and that when the players reach 30 years their contract will depend on their performance and they won't get any long contract after 30 years old like they do in Chelsea and atletico madrid for example.
