Amad – 7, Casemiro – 4: rating Man United players in Arsenal loss

This was arguably Amrabat’s best game in a Man United shirt. He was extremely proactive in his own half and worked extremely hard to aid his teammates. Stopped a number of Arsenal attacks and restricted their attacking patterns with his clever game-reading. Won 5/7 duels, seven possession recoveries and completed 55/63 passes in an admirable effort.

Diogo Dalot – 7.5

Dalot was super active on the left and completely neutralized the threat of Bukayo Saka. He won four tackles, 7/9 duels and made four clearances too – while also making brilliant forward runs to help Garnacho. Unfortunate to be on the losing side despite a great defensive outing.

Diallo was like a bright spark to light up Man United’s attack. He completed three dribbles and timed his movement smartly to get past bodies and get the blal into dangerous areas. Also created two chances and completed 23/25 passes, with his clever runs causing a lot of trouble to the opposition.

Garnacho had a strange, mixed bag of a game. He made some great sprints down the lef, often surpassing Ben White, yet his final product was awry. Couldn’t create many genuine chances despite his runs and saw six shot attempts come to nothing.

Wan-Bissaka had a pretty poor game in which he failed to restrict Arsenal’s movement down his side. Completely lost track of Trossard for his goal and often found out of position as well. Made a few nice tackles, but his overall lack of attacking contributions and lapses in concentration cost Man United.

Casemiro – 4

Casemiro’s vulnerabilities as a makeshift centre-back were exposed by Arsenal. He was caught horribly out of position and allowed Kai Havertz to be onside and set up the only goal of the game. Even though he worked hard and won 7 duels as well as made 10 possesion recoveries, Casemiro’s laziness and inability to maintain a compact defensive line resulted in problems for his side.

Hojlund had a forgettable outing at Old Trafford. He had the chance to put Man United ahead very early on, but slipped and wasted a big chance. Unable to get involved in anything prominent after that, only completing 10 passes and having zero shots on target.
