Arsenal defeated Man United 1-0 at Old Trafford. Leandro Trossard scored the only goal in the first half.
The result is positive but the performance was poor — the Gunners struggled to create chances and often came second-best against what was basically Man United Reserves.
Saliba: 9/10. Saved Arsenal with a perfect tackle early in the second half. Solid as a rock.
Gabriel: 8. As solid as Saliba but without the clutch tackle.
Trossard: 7.5. Scored the Gunners' only goal of the night with a tidy finish. Clutch again. Invaded space well on the left yet was often ignored by teammates.
Havertz: 7. Great positioning and movement to assist Trossard's goal. Helpful in pressing but quite anonymous overall.
Martinelli: 6.5. Provided a spark after coming on, asking questions of United's defence with his pace. Unlucky not to score but it was a mad save by Onana.
White: 6. Made a pre-assist for the opener but often struggled against Garnacho at the back. Should have done better in possession.
Odegaard: 5. As a captain, he has to take more responsibility when a team is struggling but he was almost invisible apart from a couple of nice passes.
Saka: 5. Same as Odegaard but without the captain part — but also without the nice passes.
Partey: 4. Gave the ball away cheaply causing an early United chance, overall not comfortable in possession. Not good enough in tackles, too, and got bypassed easily by the opposition.
