4 potential ins and 3 outs with one week left of transfer window - Man United transfer round-up

Less than a week is remaining until the end of the summer transfer window. So far, Man United has signed 3 players in Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane, and Tom Heaton. However, they haven’t been able to sell many players for formidable amounts – instead being forced to send a number of players out on loan.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recently said that ‘anything can happen’ regarding United’s transfer business before the window closes. The Red Devils are said to be hunting for a new midfielder and have shortlisted a number of enticing options.

There is a chance for some more business to take place for United before the window is over. Let’s take a look at them.

INS

According to multiple reliable sources, Man United are in a battle with Chelsea for Saul Niguez. The Red Devils are even said to be ‘leading the race’ to sign him – as per reliable Spanish sources.

With Atletico Madrid ready to sell him on a loan+option to buy deal, it can suit the Red Devils. If he does well, they can sign him on a permanent basis next summer for around £40m. The only obstacle, however, remains convincing him to join them ahead of Chelsea and actually work fast to get him before the Blues manage to do so.

Probability rating: 7/10

The Red Devils are genuinely interested in signing the young Frenchman, but his rumoured £30m is an obstacle in this deal. If unable to garner funds from selling players, United probably have to miss out on Camavinga and hope to sign him next year on a free deal.

Probability rating: 5/10

The Telegraph recently came up with a stunning claim that United might’ve already made a bid to sign Declan Rice earlier this summer. The biggest stumbling block, remains West Ham United's £60m-£70m valuation of the midfielder.

While down from the previous £100m one, United can only pull off an ambitious move for Rice by sending Jesse Lingard the other way and hoping for a discount on the rest of the fee – both of which don’t look any likely right now.

Probability rating: 3/10

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Ruben Neves is United’s third choice in terms of signing a defensive midfielder. However, Wolves are unlikely to sell their star midfielder for cheap to a Premier League rival – and United are unlikely to pay a really prominent fee for a defensive midfielder this summer.

Probability rating: 2/10

OUTS

Due to Sancho’s arrival, Amad Diallo probably won’t get regular first-team action at United – which is why the Red Devils are looking to send him out on loan. The Ivorian only wants to go out on loan to a Premier League team and with Crystal Palace, a deal could well be done before next week.

Probability: 7/10

Jesse Lingard remains the only United star who the club are hoping to sell for a prominent fee. The Red Devils are said to be demanding around £30m for Lingard, which has turned off West Ham United attentions.

The Hammers are said to be looking to sign someone else now, leaving Lingard in limbo. Unless able to reach a compromise with the Hammers or find interest from another club – both which are possible - Solskjaer could have to make room for Lingard in his squad.

Probability rating: 5/10

The Red Devils have been trying to organize a loan move for Mengi for a long time, but have unable to finalize it. Derby County remains interested but a transfer embargo put on them is restricting their chances of getting him back. Wayne Rooney is very keen on signing Mengi on loan and as long as Derby are able to solve their issues before next week, a deal could be done.

Probability rating: 6/10
